A Beech 1900 aircraft sustained "substantial damage" to its number one prop yesterday at Chicago Midway Airport. According to a report about the accident on the FAA website, the aircraft was being pushed by a tug when the prop on the number one engine was struck and damaged.
There were 2 crew and 11 passengers aboard the aircraft at the time of the accident. No one was injured.
No word on what happened to the tug!
UPDATE Apr. 28, 2007: The original post above, which has just been edited, may have contained inaccurate information in regard to the name of the company that operated the B1900 that was damaged. The FAA preliminary report mentioned Big Sky but the flight number cited in the report suggests that the aircraft may have belonged to Air Midwest. Please see the comments below.
Many thanks to the reader who alerted me to this error, and apologies to Big Sky. As the FAA states on its Preliminary Accident and Incident Report web page, "All information is preliminary and subject to change."
Anyone who may have clarifying info is encouraged to post it in the comments.

me thinks this isn't big sky - they deny anything's happened to any one of the Big Sky airplanes
There is another 1900 operator in Midway that busted a prop though.
Hmm, that's interesting. I do not have a contact in Big Sky; I got my information from an FAA preliminary accident report (Click here).
Here's an excerpt:
DESCRIPTION
BIG SKY AMW655, A BEECH 1900 AIRCRAFT, WHILE BEING PUSHED BY A TUG, THE
NUMBER ONE PROP WAS STRUCK AND DAMAGED, NO INJURIES REPORTED, MIDWAY
AIRPORT, CHICAGO, IL
On second glance, I now notice some conflicting information there -- it says "Big Sky" but the AMW prefix on the flight number would indicate that the flight was operated by Air Midwest.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. And my apologies to Big Sky for misreporting this accident.
I will add an update to the post and remove the photo of the Big Sky aircraft.
